Welcome

The San Miguel Regional Fire Safe Council is pleased to announce its admission to the Fire Safe Council. The Rancho San Diego Jamul Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Fire Safe Council to provide a resource for residents and businesses in the San Miguel area of San Diego County.

The GOALS of all Fire Safe Council members are to:

    *Promote Fire Safety Education
    *Encourage Pre-Fire Management
    *Attend Meetings
*Participate in Fire Safe Council Programs and Activities

Why Does Our Community Need A Fire Safe Council?

Fire is a fact of life in Southern California. Contributing to the frequency of firestorms are:

    *Population increases topping 30%
*Increasing development into wildland areas of San Diego County
*Extremely low levels of plant moisture caused by on-going years of drought

Learning to live with wildfire means building and maintaining homes and communities safely – becoming knowledgeable about the threat of wildfires – and working together with neighbors to plan and prepare for the inevitable.
